8 months

Ethan at 8 months:
Eating- Three food meals and 4 milk feedings. Loves to use his hands to eat finger foods. Newest favorite- chicken noodle noodle, a recipe from my sister-in-law. Had his first "allergy" symptom with red spots all around his mouth after eating some cut up plums. It was strange. Especially since he's had plums before.

Playing- Peek a boo (and variations) are popular. He has lots of toys that make noise which he is amused by as well. He wasn't too sure about the ball popper at first, but now he likes it! Still puts everything in his mouth. Loves books too. And still likes to play "timber" and knock over block towers. Likes to bang things together to make noise.

Sleeping- Usually sleeps 7pm-7am (but usually hear him between 5-6 am the days I work). He doesn't get out of his crib to 7ish. Naps 2 times one hour in the am, 1.5 hrs in the afternoon. Will still fall asleep in the car. Sleeps on his back or side most of the time, but have found him on his tummy, sometimes with his butt up in the air. That doesn't look comfortable!

Talking- Last week it was "dadada" this week is "babaabaa" with a little "th" and "VVV" sounds mixed in. He laughs and giggles. He does a lot of fussing when he's teething, which has been rough in the last week.

Moving- Still scooting across the room to get where he wants to go. He hasn't crawled with his belly off the floor. He hasn't pulled himself up on anything except me or Owen. He's strong and solid!

Social- This kid has major separation anxiety right now! One day last week while I was working Owen was convinced he had a cry button on his butt because every time he set Ethan down he started to cry. He's normally such a content and happy boy, so when he has a day of crying it catches us off guard. I'm attributing the rough day to teething. He studies new faces closely before flashing a smile. It takes him a bit to warm up to people.

Size- He's wearing mostly 12 month clothes. Some 9 month pants still fit him. Our next doctor's appt isn't until mid November so we don't know the official stats til then, but he's probably about 21 lbs, I'm guessing.
