Toddler Tracks

It's very obvious where Ethan has been in our house. He leaves a trail of toys, crumbs, or just stuff wherever he goes. He wanders around and makes circles through the kitchen and living room. Some of his favorite things right now-
-Little Tikes plastic car that he can drive backwards with his feet but not forward. He calls this "caw" for car.
-Bubbles! If he sees bubbles he reaches for the bottle and says "bubba or bubble"
-Rocks. He's always picking up rocks from the ground and collecting them.
-Bath time. It's become a nightly ritual because Ethan gets messy! We first go to his room and get his towel, which he says "towa" and then to the bath. He loves playing with the running water and splashing around.
-Happy Feet. Ethan has been dancing for awhile now and starts moving to any music, but just recently he has started to move his feet really fast like he is running in place and he is always laughing or giggling when he does this little jig! You can't help but laugh.
-Chase. Ethan loves to play chase. He will start going forward and look back to see if he is being chased or not...of course you have to tickle him when you catch him!
Uh uh. We try not to say "no" a lot, but instead we say "uh uh" with a tone indicating don't do that...well, Ethan imitates this all the time. He knows when he's not supposed to be doing something and will say "uh uh" and then proceed to do whatever it is! For instance-taking the toilet paper off the roll.
Talking. Ethan tries to repeat what we say. Sometimes it sounds nothing like what we say, but sometimes it's very close. He loves to say "uh oh", "whoa", "wow", "Yeah", "hi", "bye bye", "mama" , "dada", "gaga", "woof woof" for dog and one of his newest- "elmo"! We find this hilarious because he only knows elmo from his diapers and one of the balls he has. He hasn't seen elmo on TV...but he does like watching the Baby Genius nursery rhymes on demand.
All and all its really fun! Owen turned to be the other day and said, "This is what I love. He can communicate and I just love this age." I couldn't agree more!
