More Sleepless Nights....

At first I thought Ethan wasn't sleeping because we took him across the ocean to Ireland...but when he continued to not sleep and then came down with a fever I began to think there may be more to the story. And unfortunately there is...On Saturday I took Ethan to see the pediatrician and he diagnosed fluid in the right ear and an infected left ear (probably related to the flight). He gave me a script for antibiotic but told me to wait to use it bc up to 75% of kids can fight it off without antibiotics. And with the antibiotic resistance issues there are today it's best not to give it unless absolutely necessary. Well, motrin has been our friend here for the last couple days. BUT yesterday Ethan started barking like a seal!!! Poor baby seems to have croup-a virus that affects the vocal cords and causes a barking cough. This kid just doesn't seem to get a break as the ear infection was already making him miserable. Now he sounds HORRIBLE. After a long phone consultation with the chiropractor for several reasons we are going to try some homeopathic remedies to see if we can make Ethan feel better. He's just not himself and it is so sad to see.
